It works really well. You can feel the down-draft when it is spinning, but the lift is not great enough to get it to take off. As soon as it starts to lift it looses its connection to the drive shaft and slows down. But it looks good!

Air screw
We built a model of Leonardo da Vinci's Aerial Screw this afternoon.
It works really well. You can feel the down-draft when it is spinning, but the lift is not great enough to get it to take off. As soon as it starts to lift it looses its connection to the drive shaft and slows down. But it looks good!
